The 5th Marquess and his wife Sybil began renovating the house in the 1920's, a process which is being continued by their grandson David, 7th Marquess, who commissioned this model.
This great Palladian house, surrounded by magnificent park land, was built between 1722-35 for Sir Robert Walpole. Both James Gibbs and Colen Campbell were involved in the design, while Thomas Ripley was responsible for the actual construction. | | | Features: | |
