The architect George and Moorehouse designed it with associate S.H. Maw.
The style of the building is a mix of streamlined moderne and Art Deco. The façade is made of limestone and pink granite with a magnificent frieze on the second floor level designed by Charles Comfort. The frieze shows 33 life size figures representing the main Canadian industries. This imagery is continued in the stainless steel medallions carved into the front door.
The model is made of plaster, and brass with beautiful piece of rose coloured glass behind the door. The effect of the coloured glass is stunning when viewed with back-lighting.
This is one of a series of fine Architectural models made by world-renowned artist, Timothy Richards. These models are made with plaster and other traditional construction materials including lead, acid-etched brass, glass, copper and gold leaf.
